Only the thin people can understand the pain of being thinner and if we talk about Martial Art as a sport, then there are weight categories in almost every Martial Arts and some players can’t participate due to being underweight. Due to being underweight they don’t have enough force in their Kicks and Punches, their holds are not so strong.
The force depends on many things but the weight is also an important factor. Take a small ball cotton, a plastic ball, and a giant rock and throw them on a watermelon from the same distance and same speed. And throw them on a watermelon from the same distance and same speed. We all know, who will damage watermelon most. So Speed, Strength, and Weight are important for Force.
Not all underweight are same, there are different kinds of thin people.
Some people have a good weight because of bone strength but they do not have muscles.
Some people are skinny.
Some of them are better than skinny.
Some people have thin arms.
Some people have thin legs.
Some of them don’t have muscles on their Shoulder and Clavicle area.
Some people don’t have muscles on their chest.
Some people are fit but want to gain more weight.
Some people’s belly bulge out when they try to gain weight.
Some people do not feel hungry after eating 2 roti.
Some people eat all day even then it doesn’t affect them.
Now some people think that eating Potato, Rice, and Sleeping (eat and sleep) will gain weight.
Some people think that Pizza, Burger will gain weight.
Some people think that no one can gain weight without Non-Veg.
Some people think that they can only gain weight with the help of beer or liquor.
Some people take Capsules and Weight Gainer.
And if you want to build muscles then you must take bunch of Protein Powder, Supplements, Steroids blah blah blah.
Reasons for being an underweight:
Genetic
Diseases
Hormone Imbalance
Overactive or Underactive Digestion
Stress
Wrong Diet
Wrong Eating
Less Eating
Height, Weight, Hair fall, many Diseases, Obesity, Thinness, and even some other things depend on our genes. Today, we have a solution for almost every Genetic problem, except for some diseases.
Diabetes, Liver problems, Intestinal problems can be the reason for not gaining weight.
Like Malabsorption- In this disease, our small intestine does not properly absorb nutrients present in food.
Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Fatty liver, in these diseases, the Fat present in foods does not absorb properly.
Some people do not gain weight after high fever or after some other illness.
Underactive Digestion means your digestion slows down and Overactive Digestion means whatever you ate, it quickly gets digested.
It is a slow poison, it is eating you from the inside, it produces so many diseases.
One of the major reason for not gaining weight or not building muscle is Excessive exercises or Hyper Activities. If you do a lot of physical activities it means you’re burning more energy, you are burning more Calories.
Our body gets energy from Food and in this era, we all eat wrong foods, unhealthy foods. Due to this, our body doesn’t get the necessary nutrients.
Then we eat food at the wrong time and wrongly. Some people take breakfast at 11-12 O’clock, and dinner at 12-1am And most of us eat food very fast.
And most of us eat food very quickly, because of this, saliva does not mix well in the food and due to this our intestines have to work extra to digest food.
Some people eat so less, they do breakfast and that’s it for a whole day. And if we suggest them that you are supposed to eat more then they say “I’m already eating too much. I took 2 biscuits with a cup of tea in the morning, then 1 sandwich, then 2 bread, 1 glass milk, now I’ll take 2 more bread in dinner, now you want me to eat neighbors also”.
Apart from this, excessive Smoking and Sleeping Disorder also affects weight gain.
But in simple words, there are only 3 major reasons
1. Either you have a disease
2. Or you are not giving your body enough Nutrients as much as your body needs.
3. Else your body is not absorbing the nutrients present in the food.
Now you must visit a good Doctor for the Genetic problems, Hormonal problems, Liver problems, Intestinal problems, Diabetes or any other diseases that are affecting your weight gain.
You can get doctors help to improve digestion. A good level of workout or Martial Art training also improve Digestion.
